Stayed many many times over many years and always enjoyed the very friendly staff and the nice ambience AND the food. Also, great real ale! Very clean, good sized, comfortable rooms. Great food in the restaurant but this time the pork was not to my liking. Also, couldn't help but notice the reduced service at breakfast---where did those tiny coffee cups come from!? Also, I have to get my own coffee now. Small changes but is it the thin edge of the wedge! BUT, great staff!

This is the first time I’ve stayed at Slaters Inn but it won’t be my last. Its first-class rating is well-deserved, thanks to the staff, who are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are excellent, and the overall vibe of the hotel is perfect. I’ll definitely be back.

A tradional inn, great to stay en route.

Beautifully renovated, clean room and bathroom. Water, coffee, tea, hit chocolate and toiletries were priced as were an iron and mini ironing board. The bed was very firm but ok. I would have preferred a super king, but it was king size. The pillows however were thin and hard. We slept with the window open and despite being roadside it was quiet and we were not disturbed. Really friend recptionist. Breakfast coffee could be better

I was greeted warmly and efficiently! The room was spacious, very well appointed and quiet. The bed was really comfortable and there was a great walk in shower. The breakfast was fab! Great coffee and great service. Really super value for money!

Breakfast was outstanding.

We stayed but I had a very disturbed nights sleep with the guest next door who at 11:23 pm phoned an ex and started a drunken rant for 30 minutes. The call ended as abruptly as it started. 40 minutes later my sleep was broken again with the sound of next door calling for 'huey'! ' after that between his ear shattering snoring I hardly had any sleep. The bathroom needs the sealant replacing with clean sealant and the one currently was black with mold. The accommodation has lots of contractors staying, not knocking it as it is value for money. However I would stay again because the breakfast was out of this world. Perfect in every way as was the service.

Middle of the road

Nice enough place but nothing special. The rooms are a little jaded especially the en suite. The shower is powerful but the hose from the tap to shower head was leaking water. However, the toiletries looked nice. Carpets in the hallways are needing a little tidying up where they join. The key fobs are enormous and make it difficult to lock and unlock the doors without disturbing adjoining rooms due to the noise of them rattling when turning the key. It was quite a humid and warm evening but no air conditioning and it was a duvet/downie on the bed with no top sheet which meant I was either too hot or too cold. I would have preferred a sheet and roll the duvet back I didn't eat in the restaurant but the breakfast, which is cooked to order, was excellent. Easy parking and nice staff. This is the worst kind of review as it isn't glowing and it isn't particularly negative but it wasn't a particularly positive or negative experience.

What a Gem in a brilliant location. The staff were very attentive and professional throughout my stay. The food was excellent and I would not hesitate in going back. The so called big boys of the hotel industry could learn from The Slaters Country Inn.
