We visit Michigan City quite often from Kentucky and we LOVE it there. Especially the beaches. We will continue to visit the area at least 3 times per year and we have recommended it to many people we know.

Michigan City is unique with a nuclear cooling tower in prominent sight of the beach and the outlet mall. We enjoyed the farmer's market on Saturday morning, but didn't see much else open before 10 a.m.

I grew up in Michigan City, Left in 1978. It has gone through many changes over time. Closing off Franklin Street, Reopening Franklin St., Upgrading the rail transportation. The influx of Chicagoans. I hope it grows into something great.

The Brewery Lodge Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"An absolute gem in the woods! The room was beautiful and very spacious, the grounds we so peaceful and perfectly kept. We had a minor concern regarding the bathroom, it was immediately addressed by the GM Amber personally. Our meal on site was wonderfully prepared, the filet and elk buger were so good! We were treated to the berry tart for dessert and would definitely enjoy it again. Unbeknownst to us, Amber had let the staff know that our dinner was complimentary; such a kind and generous gesture adding the many reasons it was an amazing, peaceful stay. "
"The staff was great. The ac in my room wasn't working and they moved me into a much better room. The hotel is very nice and bright. Only issue was the heavy smoke smell in the casino but the hotel itself was great. "
"Not bad. We enjoyed the price. Husband liked the breakfast. The place was clean as it could be with being in a beach town. We slept well and felt safe. Pool was kind of cloudy so we just didn’t swim in it. The mirrors were cool in the rooms! There were air tight covers on both the box springs and the mattresses which is one thing I look for at every hotel when looking for bugs, so that was good! Everywhere should have those! Overall it was a good experience. The lady at the front desk was really cool. Thanks microtel! "
