The BOG Hotel has an amazing location. Other than that, our stay was a major bust. When we arrived, the room was quite warm, the light switches in the shower area didn’t work and the door to the toilet screeched something fierce. Since we wanted to see the city, we let it go. When we got back after dinner, the room was an oven. The guy at the front desk (Miguel, I believe) sent the bellhop, who pushed a few buttons (like I had), looked at me like a deer in headlights and said he’d report it. Minutes later, Miguel called to say it was a hotel-wide problem, which he learned about in the 30 minutes since we called. He offered to send the only 2 fans available. Of course, moving our rooms wouldn’t resolve the issue since it was a generalized problem. We had a terrible night The next morning, the front desk person — not Miguel — said an engineer would check the room. It was no longer a general problem. Later that night, the A/C and lighting issues had not been resolved. We had to move rooms 3 times because the bellhop and the weekend manager didn’t know the first room we were shown had a back-up locking system. (The door chain was non-existent.) We ended up at #403 which was equally warm, but I was assured would be cooled. Later that night the room was still hot. Miguel said they tried to lower the thermostat but the “program” didn’t allow it. However, when we walked in, he didn’t tell us. So after wasting another 30 min to this incompetence, we had to change rooms again at 10pm!!
