When i booked the room via Hotel.com, I was assured via email twice that my request for a handicapped accessible, downstairs, smoking room would be available and waiting. When I arrived at the hotel at 3am on the reservation date, the room that was given to me was NOT handicapped accessable nor smoking. In fact I was billed an extra $8.00 for a downstairs non-smoking room plus an additional $50 deposit for a downstairs room. Being it was 3am and we drove for 10 hours to arrive, we had no other alternative but to proceed. This was entirely negligent and probably a violation of the ADA and I will be looking into whether or not to bring any charges upon the parties deemed responsible for any offenses of the ADA Laws.
