"WOW!
What a brilliant little place!!!
Tucked away on the edge of a pretty little market town, the facilities and attention to detail are flawless!
This is the perfect place for a couples getaway!
The pub next door serves good food and offers friendly service.
We will certainly be making a return visit and would recommend Stables to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway"

"Staff were friendly and great in the restaurant area.
However the hotel itself is very tired and is in great need of rennovation.
Was ok for just a night, but wouldn't stay longer"

"Lovely location, easy parking right outside the door. Large barn conversion, plenty of room for 2 of us. Comfortable sofas. Starter pack was a nice touch with bread, milk, fresh farm eggs, butter and jam. "

"Had a lovely 4 night stay, a bit more remote than I realised, quite an interesting drive to and from the cottage, single track and thankful when I did not meet anyone coming in the opposite direction. Weather was quite warm, would have been nice to have a window in the bedroom and bathroom that would open and a freezer box in the fridge would have been handy to have."

"Good communication for check in, easy and faster
Secure location, the room was big and clean, everything ok with small exceptions, just half or role of toilet paper and left side bed lamp missing switch
Easy check out, thanks for everything "

"This used to be a nice place to stay, however now its nothing but a lodging for immigrants and single mothers with kids that need housing. Kids running around until approximately 02.00 so if you want a good nights sleep then forget it. Hotel rooms need a good clean and overhaul. No lock on bathroom door so left to swing in the breeze. No window stay on the bathroom window so had to prop open with a shower gell. Toilet seat and lid very loose and sliding plus toilet roll holder fell out of the...

"Amazing room - immaculately clean, huge and luxurious.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and really efficient .
The food is lovely. Would definitely stay again "
"This was our second trip to the lion at Belpur, and though we couldn’t have the bigger room this time, the room we had was still adequate for what we wanted. Always good friendly staff, who are more than willing to help.
The pub is located in a good area, close to shops and high street, and the mills and gardens. Fantastic time which is why we returned. "
"The staff are the stars in this Hotel. Every one of them was pleasant, cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had on one of our frequent overnight stopovers when we make our regular trips from down South to up North. It’s our first time at this hotel but the breakfast really excels in comparison to other hotels in the locality."
"I booked a compact room usually these are very small but comfy. This was downstairs with only 1 other room close by. Spacious quiet and comfortable. Also cool which was nice as its unusually warm in Buxton. The piano playing in the lobby is a lovely touch "
"Perfectly pleasant guest house, spacious room with mini fridge and kettle. Really clear access instructions and felt very secure and safe during my stay"
"Great place for football lovers. Beautiful building, Spacious and clean. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. There is history, memorabilia and pictures of English football history and current achievements. The spa facilities are awesome and the staff too. No regrets and will definitely return.
Just one negative was that our room had a shower but not a bath. I love to have a long hot bath when away but they tried to move us but the alternative rooms weren't suitable for us. Shout out to Finlay, Sarah and Ben who went above and beyond in assistng us with our stay. "
"I had a great stay for 2 nights here whilst away on business. Smooth and friendly check in and I had an excellent kitchenette room. Check out the lovely view!
Would recommended for the price."
"We found the staff very freindly and helpful.
The room was great and we had requested a twin room which they were able to do for us.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and well presented.
We'll definitely be coming again, thank you,
Terry."
"Excellent experience. Ideally placed if you travel up and down the country and very comfortable. Dinner excellent, breakfast too. The sitting room is very relaxed, and there is a resident cat who doesn't bother you at all."
"Arrived late due to attending an event, but the staff were still there at 10pm to check us in.
Great little hotel, with an ideal set up for two friends to share. "
