Dunans Castle is just one of the landmarks located 10.4 mi (16.8 km) from central Colintraive, so you might want to stop by for a few pics during your trip.
If visiting museums in Colintraive are on your list, you might want to check out the upcoming exhibitions at Colintraive Heritage Centre, located in the heart of town. If you want to see more of the museums in Colintraive, Heritage Centre isn't far either.
"Fantastic hotel which has clearly had a lot of work done in recent times. I was greeted warmly by Ricky and checked in to Room 2, which was massive - and simply perfect for my (5 stone) greyhound, as he had space to move.
The Royal Marine is one of 2 dog friendly hotels in the area, and as you can see, His Lordship was made ever so welcome and he slept like a log, as did I! I brought his own bed, however my bed was super comfy and cosy. There was a tv, a (clean!) kettle with tea & coffee and large en-suite.
The building itself is steeped in history and is architecturally stunning. For the same price you could stay in one of the bland, characterless, pokey guesthouses nearer town.... but why would you? From what I could tell, every room looked different, which was a nice touch.
The terrace is a great place to sit and watch the Clyde roll by, and there was ample parking too. The log fire in the bar was both cosy and aesthetically pleasing, and the whole place was super clean.
Sadly I was staying due to holding my husbands funeral in Dunoon, but the hotel being bright and cheerful really helped me alot. All the staff were fun and incredibly friendly (it is rare for housekeeping to say good morning these days, but the ladies here were wonderful). Also, a big thumbs-up to Fiona on the bar for making my stay a thoroughly enjoyable one; it really is the staff who make a hotel feel like home.
As Arnie would say, Ill be back! Thank you xxx"
"The hotel is in a beautiful situation, with far reaching views across the loch. The staff were all very friendly, the room was beautiful and, they are extremely dog friendly.
I will definitely be returning to stay here again in the near future."
"Amazing hotel, stunning room and exceedingly friendly staff working in this family run hotel. The food was delicious seafood caught in loch fyne and couldn't have been fresher. Overall a wonderful stay and would return there again. "
