Well maintained hotel, close enough to the beach many restaurants in the arounds. My breakfast was included, it was healthy and with options, good way to start the day. Front desk guys and bell men always helped. Cleaning ladies always smiling. Good option for short stays.

Loved it! First time in Rio, very close to the beach and the buffet that is a few blocks away (I can’t remember the name) that has filet mignon was absolutely amazing! Also the breakfast and fruit juice at the hotel was great :)

A clean hotel, not fancy but great walking location to Copacabana Beach, bars and restaurants. The thing that makes this hotel have a terrific star rating is the staff. Well organised with reception staff going the extra mile, with assistance and care about their works. The front of house show that they are there to help, the person looking after bags, the staff at breakfast are the same.

Check in was easy, the room was clean and neat and the area had a lot of options for food and shopping. We felt safe in that area as well, even at night although we turned in at 9pm. So night life might be crazier.

Perfect stay if you just go to sleep
The stay was pretty mid, very different the place to what they show in the photos. The vest atribute of this place was its location in front of Copacabana beach and near Ipanema Beach. The people working there were nice. The beds were comfortable and the space in the rooms was huge for us.

There might be some minor quibbles but overall I enjoyed staying at Rio Design. Staff was very friendly, the breakfast was generous (but the breakfast room gets really busy on the weekends, best to try to eat early). The location is very good, Copacabana beach is a stone's throw away. There are several shops in the neighbourhood. For the price, you can't beat this hotel.

Great location for the price , and great clean hotel, maybe management changed from the last comment but they are really fast when you ask for a service, the hot water perfect for those that are from the north, they are doing renovations but only between 11am -5pm so we didn’t hear any noise from that point which was ok we were out by then the only reason I gave a 4 start because we were not notified of this, and was put on an old floor and was not giving the room we paid for. Nevertheless we had a good room with ok space for two

Great Location, but needs improvement.
I was expecting better from the Hotel standard, but it is very basic. Staff are nice, but in need to be more professional. Breakfast good but need review on display and hygiene,,not felt much impressed to see how is maintained. Location perfect but Hotel needs some improvement in training and cleaning to raise the standard.

A complete nightmare this hotel is out dated. The sheets had blood stains on them, and it was thick visible mold in the bathroom with bugs crawling around. I talked to staff to try to switch rooms, and the other three rooms had the same problem. I left immediately first thing in the morning.
