Ms Management
Stayed in a family room with double bed and twin bunks. The room was clean and modern. The bathroom is huge with walk in shower and bath, which is good for kids. The downside is that it eats into the space for the kids bunk area which is very pokey. No couch and a tiny dining table. A little planning and forethought and you could've had a nice smaller sized bathroom with a good size bedroom with an entry door for the kids.
Received a text a few hours before we arrived to say there would be no one at reception due to a "critical staff shortage." It came with instructions to access the room and that was all OK.
But when we arrived we went to the pool area with the kids, carrying two bottles of water and the last two pieces of our peanut brittle from our long drive. The manager (we assume) walked across and without introduction said to my wife, quite rudely, "Can you not read?" She pointed at the sign on the pool entry which said, "No food or drink in pool area." My wife, taken aback, said they were just bottles of water. To which the manager said, "You'll be surprised what people put in their WATER bottles!"
The manager's approach was totally unnecessary. Made us wonder if the critical staff shortages had anything to do with how she speaks to people. Left a sour taste for a family paying top dollar for a very average place in peak season. Saw the manager's partner (we assume) in the pool area with two large dogs later. Water, no. Dogs, yes?! Will not be back.
