It’s a bit difficult to describe this place because it has so much potential, but unfortunately there are quite a few things holding it back.
The property itself is beautifully designed, and it’s clear that someone put a lot of thought into the architecture. However, it lacks a bit of attention to detail. Our room had a noticeable dampness issue, which seems like something that could probably be improved with better ventilation or an extractor fan. There was also a large half-dead plant in the room, which made it feel a little neglected, and the room could definitely benefit from a more thorough cleaning.
Breakfast was rather disappointing, as it consisted almost entirely of sweet pastries with very limited savory options.
On the positive side, the young man who welcomed us was incredibly friendly and helpful. He recommended a lovely restaurant and made us feel very welcome. The courtyard is charming, and the location is excellent for exploring Otranto and the many beautiful beaches nearby.
With a little more care, maintenance, and attention to the small details, this place could easily become something truly special.
