Our only real complaint would be the servers in the restaurants. Our fortieth anniversary dinner in the Chalet Restaurant was dampened by a distracted waitress that had to be asked numerous times for water and cocktail napkins for our glasses that were sweating all over our table and dripping on our clothes. Our food came to us lukewarm so we didn’t even stay for dessert. Our first night there I made reservations for The Pub not knowing they only had high top tables which are not comfortable for one of us due to a medical condition. The hostess told me we couldn’t be seated in the Taproom because that was not what I reserved. When I questioned our server about it she said it was because there was only one server in the Taproom and when I pointed out that serving only had two people seated in that area she pretty much just ignored me. Besides our dining experiences we loved Switzerland Inn. We loved our view and our balcony!!

The view is beautiful, rooms clean and comfy. Enjoyed the patio bar and food service. Most of the shops were closed during our stay unfortunately. Computer problems due to a lightening strike but the staff did a great job accommodating guests.

We stayed there for our 55th wedding anniversary in mid-August. The staff was excellent. The beds were very firm and so were the pillows. I wish I would have brought my own bed pillow. The room was huge! We ate at the Chalet restaurant for breakfast one morning. It was really good. Then we had reservations for dinner on our anniversary. My filet was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were excellent. My husband was disappointed in his prime rib because it was overcooked and dry. The service in the restaurant was kind of slow because they don't have enough help. It took three tries for them to get my husband's cocktail correct. Our server, Sheila, was very sweet and apologetic. The first afternoon we were there we went out to the terrace bar and they were closing early because of not enough help. There were very many disappointed people. Our room was on the second floor. I wish we would have known beforehand so that we could have made sure our room was on the first floor because we both have breathing issues. The 23 steps up to the second floor was very difficult for our breathing. The staff was accommodating and carried up our heavy suitcase. One of the best things about this place was the absolute beautiful view of the mountains.

What an amazing and magical place to spend a fun-filled Thanksgiving! The Inn was perfectly decorated for Christmas, the staff was incredibly attentive, and the meal was delicious! A particular shoutout to Stephanie! While driving back from a local tree farm, we ran over a tack on Thanksgiving Day. Upon mentioning this issue to her team, she told us to not call AAA and had a family member come to the Inn to repair the tire, what unbelievable service! We will absolutely return with our family, such a special place!

We always wanted to stay here and now we have! The views and campus were absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. The room was quaint but not sure worth the luxury price. Air conditioner was a little loud which I guess helped quiet the talking at the bar since our room was close to it. Ice machine was outside and there is no elevator if you are older and need that. (My husband and I were ok on the second look though.) Overall we had a really good time … just don’t know if we’d pay the high nightly rate again…and the rates were probably even discounted right now because of the Mountain Parkway not being all the way open.
