Absolute best bed-and-breakfast

Went on a motorcycle run. With the Wife the flood run absolutely beautiful place a true gem very authentic Alexandria mansion. Very positive experiences made us a breakfast for all the guests. We all sat on together and had a four course breakfast each day. Nicest old man that ran the place. He had regular traditions that he performed for all the guests can’t tell you the secrets.

Fabulous

Our experience was absolutely perfect. Richard, the Innkeeper, was an amazing host. He gave us great recommendations around town for dinner and there were many wonderful touches included in the stay. We also got to learn a lot about the house. The breakfast was phenomenal. Richard goes above and beyond for everyone who stays at the mansion. I cannot emphasize enough what a pleasure it was to stay here.

It eas amazing. The bed and breakfast is beautiful. The room is gorgeous. It truly is a mansion . Richard is a wonderful host. He makes the best breakfast. Meeting the other guests and joining them for breakfast is very special too. Richard serves the home made fresh breakfast and it is like stepping into another era. I will definitely come back.

A wonderful stay in an historic property

Spent 12 nights here whilst visiting family in the area. We agree with other guests that the Alexander Mansion House offers an “experience” in an historic building. We had the Alexander Durante room which was beautiful. Every night we would have a “night cap” and the room would be waiting for us with lamps turned on and the radio on. Breakfast is very much a part of the experience here. We got to meet and talk to / have breakfast with so many other guests over our time here which really added to the experience. Cannot rate this property highly enough. It made for a much needed break and a wonderful Christmas. We will be returning very soon! Thank you to our wonderful hosts x

This is a must see for anyone who wants a cozy place with much history. The home is beautisul, and Richard provides service that is unmatched in my experience. The breakfast that is provided in the morning is massive and enjoyable. If you are planning a trip to Winona and want to have an experience as opposed to just lodging, I think you will be very pleased to stay here.

We stayed in Mary’s Room (as my wife is named Mary!). It was perfect! Richard and David were excellent hosts. Very accommodating and gave us a warm welcome and send off. Wine when we arrived (welcome after a long days driving!) and sherry at bed time! Very relaxing and the house is magnificent. Highly recommend!

What’s a wonderful place. Richard is so welcoming, the mansion is huge and beautiful and full of character, and he even put together snack breakfast for me to take with me because I could not stay for the actual breakfast. Winona itself is lovely and I was able to take a couple of sunset walks on the water after I arrived quite late. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Very grand home of 1890. I was in Winona for a class reunion. The Alexander Mansion was very clean with vintage decor. Breakfast was served at a large dining room table where we could chat with the other guests. Breakfast was a 5 course meal with each course perfect in presentation and taste. Richard as an excellent host and was prepared for all our needs. Will definitely come back!
