However, my biggest concern was the hotel's use of a remote Customer Service Kiosk instead of an in-person front desk. As a Deaf traveler who relies heavily on lipreading, this system was very difficult to use. I had to communicate with a representative through a TV screen, and there were no captions available. The representative had an accent that was difficult for me to understand, and he frequently forgot to turn on the volume. The check-in experience became even more frustrating when I was assigned a room that had not been cleaned or prepared. The bed was unmade, and the room was clearly not ready for occupancy. I had to return to the kiosk, explain the issue, wait while the representative contacted hotel staff, and then receive a second room assignment. Fortunately, the second room was clean and ready.
