We had a room on the second floor which was alongside a public stairway. This meant at night it was noisy, the street light was on twenty four hours a day there was a bench outside the bedroom window where local drunks would sit, sing, shout or chat. Its position was such they could see into the bedroom itself, requiring the curtains to be partially drawn whenever we were there. The main room window looks onto the upper part of the stairway so pedestrians look downwards into it. The bathroom was poorly planned, you had to walk around the door to get in and close it as the washing machine was so close to both shower door and bathroom door. There was no plug for either sink and it took the staff 4 days to provide akitchen p,ug, no bathroom plug ever appeared (it was a different size). The wind whistled down the corridor making it noisy when trying to sleep. We spoke to various mdmbers of staff zbout these issues and the only option given was to upgrade, pay more and move rooms.
