No thermostat
Breakfast & the location was great, we had to cancel the reservations because there wasn’t any heat. The weather was cold and rainy, cold air came inside the room from the door & bathroom window which didn’t seal/close properly. Large black spider visited us & we had to report no hot water… maintenance came ran water for >5minutes, ran sink & shower & flushed toilet to make water lukewarm.
Front desk clerk was amazing & completely understood our needs, cancelled balance of reservations.
Just know there’s no heat, nor air conditioner.

Quiet and comfortable
El Andariego is in the best location. Right near the plaza and also a supermarket. The hotel is not on the street so you do not hear any traffic noise. It is incredibly quiet so probably not suited to those planning on partying and coming home late. Breakfast is nice and would stay here again.

The hotel is located at the center of old cusco with walking distance to main attractions, plazas, temples and churches. The front desk is super friendly and will give you detailed information to get around. The room is super clean and comfortable.

We loved the fact that the property is in a great location. Walking distance to Plaza de Armas and many restaurants. Although it is located on a busy street, the property is not close to the sidewalk at all. It is also gated with cameras. We felt very safe there. Our room was very comfortable and had a fireplace that we used every night. They also serve good breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel on the basis of tripadviser reviews but I think that they are not entirely accurate. The hotel is located in an old house. Our room was on the second floor right above the reception, so we could hear everything that happens there during the night and this was very uncomfortable. So, my take on pros and cons is the following:
+
It is very central, close to everything
The staff is very nice trying to help at any point
The breakfast is ok - not to die for but all right.
-
Can be very noisy
Old rooms and showers (clearly in need of refurbishment)
No safe box
The outer gate locks at night and you have to wait outside hoping that they will notice you at the reception - this was not really comfortable. It worked OK a couple of times but the idea itself was not really great
- we asked for a boxed breakfast before leaving to Machu Picchu and our request was effectively ignored.
So, since this hotel is not the cheapest I think that you can find a much better deal in Cusco. And I am truly sorry to say that because the staff at the reception were really nice and helpful. That’s why I rate it as 3. Otherwise it would be lower.

Great stay, felt like home
We loved our stay here! We stay 2 separate nights here in the same room. The hotel was very charming, and the breakfast was nice. The location is great and makes walking around the city very easy. They were helpful in arranging our pick up from the train station. The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly.

Great stay in Cusco
Our stay was great. The staff was very attentive and even made sure we had all tips for altitude sickness prevention. They gave us great recos for restaurants and sightseeing around town. The room was cozy, clean and warm. Also the hotel is very well located and safe, just a few blocks from the main square, restaurants and a big market. We really recommend this hotel!

Good value for the price
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and recently outfitted, although they did lack a certain charm. The bathroom appeared quite new. The shower leaked through the caulking. This was remedied after the first day. On one day of our stay there was no hot water until mid-morning. The staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet plentiful. Overall, the hotel was a good value for the price.

Excellent hotel in the middle of town
We checked in with no issues, given a great bedroom with excellent facilities. It had a fireplace, a huge shower with great pressure and clean modern bathroom and bed!

Lovely hotel in Cusco!
We checked in twice on two separate sections of our trip. We stayed on second floor and first floor. The room on first floor was really nice (room on second was a bit older but still fine). The staff were so nice! Very kind and patient and speak good English. We had a warm welcome with coca tea and they lit the fire place for us. Breakfast was nice as well. Dining area was warmly decorated. Free coca tea and coffee available during stay. Have to say this is one of my favourite hotel during my South America trip.

On our way to Macchu Picchu...
This is a very charming hotel. It was our first time to Cusco and upon arrival, altitude sickness hit like a ton of bricks. The staff was very accommodating in speaking slowly and not bombarding us with too many questions upon check in. They offered us coca tea with chamomile in hopes that it would help us rest. It was exactly what we needed. Upon going to our room, they recommended hot showers and going to bed which is exactly what we did. It was very chilly, and the rooms don't really have central heat, but they provided a roll away heater which worked for us. The bedspreads were also very thick so a combination of the two was able to keep the draft away. They provide continental breakfast in the morning which we didn't have because our train to macchu picchu left really early but the spread looked nice if you are able to take advantage of it. The area is very close to the center of town so we were able to walk around in the evening for shopping and restaurants. There are a lot of people selling things so just be aware you are in a very touristy part of town. They also arranged cabs for us to and from the train station as well as to the airport when we needed it. It was a very comfortable stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Hidden gem.
The hotel was great, the staff was great and the breakfast included was just right. The staff helped us out in every possible way. Maria del Carmen was very helpful in getting us reliable transportation around and to the airport. Maria del Carmen was very kind and very sweet to us, she gave us very helpful advice. I would like to thank Maria del Carmen for everything that she did for us. Driving up to the hotel is not very pretty but walking into it it’s very nice. I highly recommend this hotel, it was clean the beds were very comfortable and quiet as well.
FYI: I highly recommend contacting the hotel in arranging a cab for pick up at the airport. Try and avoid getting a cab at the airport even where it says “official cabs”, they will charge you more money then what it normally would cost. It usually cost about 10 soles from the airport to the hotel.
