Very dirty, very stinky
Unfortunately this motel was the worst part of our drumheller trip. When we arrived our room hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. Cob webs, carpets not vacuumed, dirty windows, crusty tables. The room was absolutely infested with maple bugs. We understand that they are a seasonal pest that are hard to stop, we would have understood if it was 3 or 4, But it was 50+. The door seal was so bad the could and would come in the entire stay. I would wake up to bugs in my hair. If all of that wasn't bad enough the room had a terrible smell that even an entire bottle of febreze couldn't fix. All in all just spend the little bit extra and stay somewhere else.

Staff was unfriendly and not welcoming. First person at counter said nothing and called another person to serve me. That oerson took 5 more mi nutes to come and check me in. The outside grounds were not clean. The rooms were clean enough but they used very heavily sprayed room. Was very hard to breath evenbafter keeping the door open and fan on.

The room was very dark and the walls were paper-thin. Every time the neighbors flushed the toilet or took a shower, the noise carried fully into my room.

Found the bed very hard and there wasn't much around it. However, it was a great spot to go between town and the Tyrrell Museum.

One thing we didn't know about at check-in was that we could have had a discount on our food bill at Whiffs restaurant . We only found out later after dining there. It would have been nice to have been told this.

I wanted a ground floor pet-friendly room with a full size fridge. I was chastised at the front desk for not telling them in advance that I needed a pet-friendly room. I told them that there was no obvious place on the booking platform to make such a request. They complained that dogs leave hair on the beds and furniture. They shouldn't advertise being pet-friendly if they actually aren't. Also, I booked a so-called "suite" because the pictures on the website showed a full-sized fridge in the suites. Suites are considerably more expensive than single rooms. So they gave me a ground floor room and I started to unload my stuff, then realized that the room only had a bar fridge. I went back to the tiny "office" and asked for a different room. I was given room 27 on the second floor. This meant having to carry my coolers of food that were in transport up a flight of stairs. The fridge was now full size so that was satisfactory, but the room was dirty and poorly maintained. I felt sorry for my dog having to sleep on such a filthy, stained carpet. The area around the air conditioner had been leaking and the wall and trim were badly stained. The kitchen linoleum was marked and scarred and looked poorly cleaned. The entry door on the inside was filthy around the door knob and latch. The ceiling in the "bedroom" was poorly patched, as was the tub surround. The bathroom was relatively clean. Many other deficiencies. Don't stay here

To start I had to pay 300$ deposit for my dog and a nightly fee that isn’t mentioned in their ad. The owner was awful with a disgusting attitude towards females his daughter included from what I saw and heard. His wife and daughter were amazing. They both work way too hard. Didn’t see the hotel manager do anything. She keeps the back area a mess (when we have stayed before the new owners took over, the back space WAS for guests) she also had some not very nice things to say about the owners daughter. (I saw the daughter work from sun up to sun down only saw the manager to over step her boundaries) I think she’s taking full advantage. I’ve had issues with this last before. My mom had to fight to get her deposit back from the owner. We had the room checked with no issues. Eventually after my mom and the owner yelling at each other his lovely daughter gave my mom her money back without a fight. He put his hands in The air and walked off. Not sure what the issue was. Will be watching my credit card. No smoke alarm in the room. Just a spot where it used to be. Mould all over the ceiling in the washroom and shower. Brown stuff leaking out of the air conditioning unit and a mould smell. Repairs and a good cleaning are needed. We had to clean our room before we used it and cleaned it before we left. That man shouldn’t be running a hotel with his temper and attitude. I can provide pictures. Use air bnb. Better than hotels!

BAND AID JOB on updating the room. The workmanship of the upgrades was very poorly done. The kitchenette had a dirty dish cloth. The room was clean but it appeared there had been some previous water damage. Enough beds for a family of 6.

We booked from Monday through Friday. We swept and cleaned before use. No room maintenance for towels or anything else. The restaurant was closed for dinner as they apparently didn’t have adequate staff. It will not be on the itinerary for next trip.
