Amazing property! Loved the onsen and family owned feel.

Dated
Very old dated with limited amenities in the room. Old furnishings. Noisy. Comfortable bed and well heated. Very pricey for what you get.

I booked a stay here very last minute. For the price tag I was very underwhelmed, the carpet in the room has seen far better days and the bathroom was nothing more than the bare essentials. Everything was very outdated. This is the only hotel I have seen in Japan that didnโt have a bidet in the bathroom.
The rooms are decently sized but a large amount of space is taken up by a weird array of furniture that isnโt super usable because of how much space they take up(ie the table in front of the couch that has to be moved outwards to use the couch comfortably, which then blocks the entrance and desk)
The staff were very friendly and helpful though!
Olivia and her team were very warm, welcoming and helpful. Shakespeare Hotel is very charming, has everything you need and it is located conveniently close to Base Camp where you catch the shuttle to the mountains.

Well located in Echoland
I stayed for 3 days whilst my friends apartment had guests. The hotel staff were lovely, the room was small but clean and did what it needed. Location is very good. Would recommend.
