The management -- the check-in procedure, to be particular -- leaves much to be desired. We were traveling with a baby and took particular care to contact the management in advance so that check-in would be smooth. In the end, it was a nightmare. We were lugging along heavy suitcases in the rain in a Mainz January from the station and had a hard time finding the place in the night. They said that they would arrange for shuttle from the station and we were banking on that. We left several messages for them through the hotels.com portal and even hotels.com emailed us that a check-in prior to 10pm would be smooth. This was the first time we were using a non-hotel (that is, no 24/7 front desk)...we repeatedly tried to contact them. In the end, the management said that it was not their responsibility since they did not receive any of the messages. I showed them the messages on the hotels.com portal and also the emails. As a guest, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to better prepare for a check-in. I've never had to call a hotel/property to confirm a booking/check-in procedure. In fact I did try to call them once and the line didn't go through.
In any case, I'd stay away from this management.
