When I booked this hotel, I knew it was a budget hotel. I mean, it says that right in the name: Ibis Budget. However, I guess I wasn't mentally prepared for it to be a BUDGET hotel. Thus, I should review this place based on what it is, not what I thought it was going to be.
My room was very clean and relatively quiet (there's construction going on across the street, which is completely out of anyone's control). Everything in the room is very minimal. There are no hand towels in the bathroom, no tissues (just toilet paper), and no closet (just six hangers on the wall). Basically, you get the essentials but that's it. Nothing more, but nothing less. Could there be more conveniences offered? Sure, but remember that this is a budget hotel, so for what it is, this place is very nice. The bed was comfortable enough, my room was spacious enough, and they offer carafes of filtered water that you can take to your room. And they have good (and free) wifi service.
This hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Gare d'Amiens and the center of the city. It's not far at all, but it can feel like a bit of a hike if you have luggage with you.
One thing that sets this place apart, however, is the terrific service. All the workers I encountered working at the front desk have all been very friendly and wonderfully helpful. The staff here really need to be recognized for their work.
