Lovely setting in the mountains. Delicious dinner, however not available every night. Walking distance to start of the hiking path up Mt Pelee. Delightful people at this hotel. Cottages are spacious but rustic. Don't expect a luxury hotel, but a beautiful setting, warm welcome, peaceful location.

Five Star Mountain Retreat
The entire experience was great. The service was truly fantastic. Although the restaurant was closed, they went out of their way to make dinner for us! The restaurant should have a Michelin star.
The daily maid service was truly exceptional as well. It was a deep cleaning that included washing the floors! The friendly ambience, the beautiful scenery
and the great food and service made this the high spot of our trip to Martinique. You are way up the mountain so no air conditioning is needed, hence the extra blankets on the bed which by the middle of the night I had to use. I will be back good Lord willing!

Charming Hotel On The Mountain
This place was great. It's right on Mount Pelee, and is a perfect base camp for exploring the mountain. The woman at the check in, who also was the hostess and waitress for the restaurant, was so nice. I speak little French and she spoke little English, but we were able to communicate as needed. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The cabin I was staying in was quite cozy. Overall I had a great experience at Auberge de la Montagne Pelee Hotel. I wish I could could have stayed another day or two.

Top destination in the area
It’s basically a few lodges scattered around the area. The setting is incredible, it’s along the road leading up to the Pelée mountain and you get the best view of it (well, when it’s not covered in fog). Really secluded area, exactly what you need for some time away from the bustle.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
This was an absolutely horrible place and nothing about the description of the property was accurate. Hotels.com should take it off of your list. There is no ceiling fan, , there is no wi-fi, you cannot open the doors at night because there aren't any screens or any way to lock anything and you have 1 tiny window. I had to ask for a fan and they gave me a rusty fan, after first saying they didn't have one. The other little houses looks like a ghost town because they are all full of mold on the outside. The pictures you have with curtains and a bedspread are totally inaccurate - there is nothing like that. The bathroom was pathetic. The breakfast was also pathetic.

Fabulous location for views or hike to Pelee. Owner for about 30 yrs johanne (m) and wife run the place. You can eat anything there in their great restaurant which is on par with anything on island. Accommodations in large mt.cabin very good, tho some may need AC in hot months. I just left all the doors and windows open Kitchenette is average. Bed comfortable. No WIFI, but who needs it?

Great base for pelee
Excellent base to hike Pelee. Stay here the night before your hike. Your hosts will prepare you breakfast (coffee, hot chocolate, fresh fruit, warm croissants, yogurt) at a time of your choice in the morning. The little huts had a mini fridge and the basics to prepare your own meal from the grocery store in town.

Good location to explore Mt Pelee and the north
The location of the Auberge on the slopes of Montagne Pelee is excellent for anyone wanting to climb up to the caldera and beyond. Chantal, the French-speaking host, is very accommodating and helpful. The cottages are roomy and have nice, sheltered porches for eating a casual meal. Good location for exploring northern Martinique. This area is in a rainforest so it may rain a lot.

Your own bungalow on the flanks of Mt. Pelee!
This was our second visit to the Auberge and Mt. Pelee. The bungalows are spacious, beautifully built and well equipped - almost like Alpine chalets. The views are amazing - you can see the west coast from your own terrace and the east coast and Mt. Pelee from the dining room. The food is also excellent - I recommend the pave of salmon for dinner and there is an excellent buffet for breakfast that comes with the room. The staff is warm and helpful. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to hike up Mt. Pelee - the parking lot at the base of the trail is a 2 minute drive up the hill. However, it is also a good base for exploring the northern part of the island. Due to the altitude it is cooler - I needed a light jacket in the evening and early morning.

A night close to the mountain hike
Arrived after darkness and it seemed quite. The lady in the reception was helpful and gave us breakfast for the next day when we said that we will leave for hiking 05:00.

The lodgings were rustic but comfortable. The shower was handheld Euro style and the room had a small kitchenette with a fridge. The wifi was spotty and worked in the hotel lobby. The location is a bit off the beaten path - not much for nightlife or dining choices nearby but the hotel restaurant was good.

Cottage style, Close to Mount Pelee
Cottage type houses. Different type of hotel experience. Bathroom and room could be cleaner, but it's functional. For the price I guess I cant complain. Staff person (front office person) was great. Also super close to Mount Pelee if you're looking to hike. Its practically on the foot of the mountain.
