If you want to stay at a resort in Palau, you can choose either between royal or pacific. Yes, the pool and private beach may be much smaller in royal, but the room conditions and the overall interior is so much more modern and neater. Just a small issue with ants... but I have been told that the ant issue in royal is nothing compared to other major insect issues in other places.
Also, the staff members were all so generous and prepared to assist us even if we had a ridiculous request such as filling up our massive inflatable watermelon with air (it took the staff almost 30 minutes to do this and he was TOTALLY okay with it)
Lastly, in regards to location, we had a lot of ocean activities planned during our trip, and since all of the offices of tour agencies and ticket centers were located so close to the resort, our “meeting time” with the guide was late compared to other meeting times (it was like 9:00am, while it would be 8:00am at other hotels) or we could even just walk over to the offices there in 5 minutes. Also note that “drop off bar” a popular cafe/bar/restaurant in Palau is located less than 5 minutes away.
So all in all, we absolutely loved this resort, and hopefully if we ever make another trip to Palau, we would definately stay at royal again.
