Bait and switch hotel booking
On the morning of our arrival they told
Us they had no water and moved us to another hotel they owned near by. We arrived and it was all locked up and I think the husband of the manager came
And opened the door. They were going to clean and get the room prepared so we dropped off our luggage. We came back few hours later and they were just finishing. It appears the place was vacant and just opened and we were the only ones there.
The place was nothing like where we booked, bathroom was awful and the street was very noisy. Early morning there was loud banging of cans outside and loud noise . It appears to be bait and switch booking scam. We gave our passport for photo when we got there and was told all set. Told them we were checking out at 10 next morning and was told just leave key in the room. We checked out next morning and told them via WhatsApp and no response until late that evening we need to pay and wanted my credit card number over WhatsApp. I contacted hotels site and said I am not giving them my number as I had no idea what they may do with my card number. Running transaction on the machine is one thing but this seems too fishy.
We been on 3 week trip all over Italy and it
Has been most dissatisfied stay to date.
