Learn more about La Jolla
Watching sea lions bask on rocky outcrops at La Jolla Cove feels like nature's most entertaining show. The tide pools reveal miniature underwater worlds where starfish and anemones create living art. At Torrey Pines State Reserve, hiking trails wind along dramatic cliffs with Pacific views that make stopping every few steps mandatory. The brutalist masterpiece of Geisel Library at UCSD looks like it might lift off into space at any moment. Birch Aquarium showcases local marine life with tanks that seem to bring the ocean indoors. The Museum of Contemporary Art provides cultural balance to all that natural beauty. For the perfect day, grab fish tacos from a local spot before heading to Windansea Beach, where skilled surfers make impossible waves look easy.

La Jolla Shores Hotel
"Incredible"
Inn By The Sea La Jolla
"Everything was very clean, the rooms were comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and amenable to care and assistance. And the location to the town center and ocean are terrific. Would definitely stay again the next time we visit La Jolla."
Cormorant Boutique Hotel
"Great little boutique hotel. The best part of this was the location and the staff up front. They were helpful and accommodating in every way."
Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego La Jolla
"Great central location!"
Grande Colonial Hotel
"Nice location, close to the ocean, the seals and sea lions are just 5min away"
Pantai Inn
"Very cute boutique hotel but historic. If you don’t go in hoping for the Ritz, I think you’ll fall in love with this little gem of an ocean side hotel. The room was large with a separate bedroom, living room and kitchenette and had the most spectacular ocean view. The property was well maintained, clean and walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, bars and great shopping. The lobby offered 24/7 complimentary beverages (sodas, waters and juices) and snacks. There is also a nice wine and beer selection for purchase. The complimentary breakfast (buffet) was well done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. In the building across from the lobby is a rooftop terrace that was perfect for sipping cocktails at sunset. The Pentai Inn is our new favorite spot in Downtown La Jolla. We look forward to going back!"
The Sands of La Jolla
"My husband and I have used this hotel the past few years because it’s clean, comfortable, and easy to access our favorite spots! We usually stay on the second/third floor. However, the only room available was the 1st floor. Our only complaint is that we can hear every movement upstairs, we were woken up early everyday of the trip because we could hear the doors and footsteps and cleaning crew. Other than that, everything went smoothly! We love the free parking on property."
The Shoal La Jolla Beach
"Never got a full clean after"
The Lodge at Torrey Pines
"We had a wonderful stay! Enjoyed the onsite amenities. Loved strolling the gardens, the pool, spa and golf course. The on site and off site restaurants were.great. Car service came in handy. Our driver Roger was fantastic! Very helpful with restaurant recommendations and offered great insight on things to see and do in the area. Looking forward to coming back in October. Thank you for the wonderful stay."
