Overall all I can say is that I am really glad we ended up renting a car, because had we not done that the trip would have been ruined!
The hotel is outdated, there are multiple areas where things are in need of repair, remediation, or renovation.
Reception - the area can be crowded when checking in, there is a lot of information that is not provided to you such as food options, activities, how to get to where you need to go, etc.
Food - the choices are minimal. You’ll probably have a better breakfast at a motel in the States than you will here. There’s a $27 per person fee for breakfast. You’ll wish you went to a diner instead once you have the experience.
La Cava - the onsite restaurant has a limited menu the food was atrocious at best. They do have a massive wine list, but none are available by the glass. If you do order a glass of wine, expect cheap tasting wine, and you won’t get to see the bottle it came from.
The bar - there’s no standard. A house margarita is made differently by each bartender and varies throughout the day. The bar food menu is limited at best.
Now for the amenties -
The pool - it’s small, gets crowded quickly, and it’s likely because it’s one of the only things to do.
The beach - Non-existent. The hotel does have a concrete slab poured on the beach with 4 beach chairs set up, but the sand is black, smells like fish, and the water isn’t the crystal blue like you’d think.
The only saving grace - the staff. Everyone is kind, and informative.
