Nice, calm property but staff & beach needs work
Pretty, lush property but the beach was unfortunately dirty / not swimmable. Also;
- Ocean front room but no shower glass / still shower curtains from 90s. Of course the floor got wet, girlfriend slipped and thankfully she has strong hand grip!
- 80% of the staff we interacted with awkwardly ignored us. Not sure if this is lack of training but us having to try to get staff's attention, from the bartenders to towel office person and them not responding to all our "Hola!", "Buenas dias!", etc. was very strange.
On one instance my girlfriend and I sat at the bar for easily 10 minutes while there were 3 staff members who clearly saw us but never even acknowledged us with a quick "Hola, we'll be right with you" or something in that line. Instead of grabbing a pre-dinner cocktail, we just walked straight to our dinner.
Pool/beach towel situation is probably the least efficient one I've ever seen. No towels until 9am when the "towel office" opens. And you have to walk all the way there and back your wet towel after. Maybe instead of staff scrolling on their IG and ignoring you, they could have 2-3 towel bins around the pool, beach and have the staff come around twice with a cart and collect used towels?
(Hotels.com issue) Booked for 2 adults but no clear way to add the second person's information so they can check-in in case I was running late so I called the property and also replied on the confirmation email requesting this. Neither worked and she got stuck waiting for hours
