I’m surprised at how well rated this hotel has been; I found the hotel drab in places, signage to the spa is lacking, the spaces of the parking bays are incredibly tight, the spa smells of mould, our room and hotel generally smelt of faeces mixed with cleaning products and the toilet in our room appeared to be faulty with it filling constantly after being flushed. Upon check in, it was chaotic and eventually got moved to an alternate desk with a lot of emphasis to wait around for a cookie each, to then find out they were cold so we shouldn’t have them yet and to come back later?! At checkout the young lady ‘E’ who was sorting out our car park exit came across dismissive and impatient and we’d overheard others complaining about similar with other staff. The spa is sub par, had doors opened at 10am (treatment was at 10am and advised to be there 10-15 mins early) so was waiting a while. Used the HBOT and wasn’t given any guidelines on what to expect, how to use, how to get out safely in an emergency etc. all in all the pros of the hotel are the proximity to what we went for (the Brighton centre) and the comfort of the beds. Paid £180, would say its value was more like £130, spa treatment was £130 total and should be more like £80.
