The staff was very kind. The lobby area is clean and decorated with beautiful eastern theme. The property has condition issues. One elevator broken, the other one sounds rough. The breakfast is not fresh looking fruit, make ur own waffles or cereal, and the one toaster only works on one side. The pool is indoor and the smell is very strong. The jacuzzi attached to the pool is not heated. We did not use them. The bed linens had stains on them, blood splatters, were clean, but stained. There is broken globes on outdoor lamps and evidence of unhoused people living in the bushes next to the parking area. No one bothered my rental car or approached me, however. An acrid smell was very strong in the hallway near my room, could be weed, could’ve been mold, but it hurt my lungs to breathe and I’m a smoker. It may just be the area we were staying, I realize Houston has endured troubled times with recent floods and such, we left 10 years ago, but we needed to stay in this area and it is heartbreaking to see things deteriorate as they have. I do believe, however, the staff is doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Property owner should have a closer look at some needed updates and repairs.
