Mixed feelings part 1
We had a wonderful and relaxing time at Windmill Village Hotel, Golf & Spa for the most part.
The grounds were beautiful and well kept.
After checking in, my wife and I went to our room which initially was very inviting but after unpacking we soon realised that there were only two sockets above a bedside cabinet, only one of which was working. The room offered coffee and tea making facilities which would have required moving the kettle and boiling it on said bedside cabinet.
After mentioning this to a member of staff at reception we were given another room and I'm happy to say that it had four working sockets 😁.
The spa facilities were great and all areas were clean. A very good size pool and gym. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were of a good size too.
When we were in the bathroom getting ourselves ready on the last day of our stay, Sunday, to our surprise we found an army of ants crawling around the basin and on our toiletries. Not the sight with which we expected to be greeted. We had to move our toiletries into the bedroom after shaking the ants off them.
On our last morning which was on a Sunday we visited the spa to use the facilities as on the two previous days only to be told that they had run out of towels and that their next delivery of fresh towels would be on the coming Tuesday. The staff member suggested that we should either go to our room and use our towels from there or ask a member of staff at the hotel reception to give us two towels.
