Title: Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend
Our stay at the Ibiscus Hotel was extremely disappointing, and we would not recommend this hotel.
We had booked a suite, which was acceptable in terms of size and layout, with floor-to-ceiling windows along two walls. Unfortunately, the room was very poorly cleaned, and the windows were so dirty that it was difficult to enjoy the view. Fortunately, after four days, heavy rain showers washed away some of the dirt on the windows.
We also booked half board, only to discover that the chef seemed to use wheat flour and sugar in almost everything served. As a result, the only food I could safely eat was salad. We asked the hotel to cancel the meal arrangement, but management was unwilling to accommodate our request. We were therefore forced to pay for meals we could not eat, meaning we had to pay for food elsewhere as well.
To make matters worse, we experienced a theft from our room. Approximately NOK 1,500 was taken from a trouser pocket. We reported the incident to the manager, but the response was simply that hotel staff did not steal. We found this response dismissive and unsatisfactory. We expected the matter to be taken seriously and properly investigated.
The hotel's location is acceptable, and the suite itself had potential. However, poor cleaning, unsuitable food with no flexibility regarding half board, and the unsatisfactory response to a reported theft completely overshadowed these positives.
