We were there for my grand nieces baptism. Everything was fine until a fire broke out on Monday. We had to evacuate and thankfully nobody was hurt. We had to leave all of our things inside until clearance was given for us to enter again. My issue is I specifically left my phone number with the head of the housekeeping department and she wrote it down on a sheet of paper. I asked her to please let us know when we can enter again so that we can get our things And go somewhere else or end our vacation early. We never got a phone call. I couldn’t reach the hotel because electricity was down. So I called Holiday Inn. They were very helpful. I really wish that they just called to let us know that we can come back. By the time that we returned, it was evening. The staff did not offer a lantern for us to get our belongings. They had plenty downstairs. But they expected us to enter the room with just a flashlight on our phones. They didn’t offer any help at all. The way that they “reimbursed” us for the remaining of our stay was to not charge our card. The issue is I wasn’t there anyway so they couldn’t have charged it for a stay that did not happen. It was just too much for all of us to pack while it’s dark, then head to the Holiday Inn to unpack. So we left our vacation early, which was not good at all.
