i made a non-refundable booking 20days earlier than my real stay and booking confirmation was received by email and hotels.com but one day before my check in, i've got an email that my hotel was transfered to another near hotel due to their internal problem to accommodate.
I searched transfered hotel on the internet, it takes more time by walk from bus station(where i get off in Chamonix), since I have heavy luggage, distance from busstaion is really important.
moreover when called to check my booking in the transfered hotel, they said they couldn't find my booking, because Chalet Hotel Le Prieure didn't give booking list yet to this alternative hotel, even it was 4pm before check in date
I took half day for this verification by phone call and email, but hotel le prieure's response was really slow. I later found out that there was an big? event and i assume customer who booked for one night was transfered to another near hotel, becuase my friends who booked 3 nights could still there without any booking change.
It was refundable booking, and hotel should keep this, and if there is a situation to cancel this booking, this hotel should have contacted and informed me before 1week prior to check in date.
1 day before check-in date by sudden is non-sense, and i would like to inform potential customers of avoiding this hotel, they have no responsibility.
