8/10 Very good

The staff were lovely. The suite we had was spacious but a bit dated. The breakfasts were great however the dinner menu and meals we thought were mediocre especially for a 4 star hotel.

Beautiful grounds. Comfortable rooms. The food is good, not fantastic. Very likeable place to stay. The dining room is particularly attractive. Beds are ok. Good hotel.

Stunning backdrop in the forest next to a lake. Service was homely and welcoming. Property itself is quite dated.

Peace, quiet and a great find

Stayed as I run over at work, on the drive to the hotel I thought I was lost as it’s quite remote! Arrived and could not believe it was cheaper than the nearest premier inn, the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the staff are all amazing
Simon, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

What a lovely hotel in beautiful countryside. The staff in Reception were so friendly and helpful. The room was large with a lounge area and very comfortable. We used the swimming pool after check in which was super and quite warm! The dining room is lovely with wonderful views across to Loch Ard and the bar / lounge area very cosy and comfortable. There are so many walks to do around. We hope to come back and try more of them. The evening meal was overpriced. The Cumberland sausage and mash was very good though I felt I had to add more vegetables (which cost an extra£6!). My husband’s Indian starter of fried haggis and paneer was very tasty but his Chicken tikka was so disappointing as it consisted of a plain chicken breast sitting in some fairly mild tikka sauce - bearing no resemblance to the original dish with a small amount of rice and a little naan bread.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Great staff and amenities.
Kirsty, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Immediate starting point for Ben Venue hike with showers and indoor pool for cool down afterwards (which can be used after check out) make it worth the money. Standard full English breakfast with a number of continental sides given in picturesque dining room was on level with any reputable bed and breakfast but obviously some guests expected a full buffet akin to major chains (despite the clear language upon booking). Comfortable beds in spacious rooms that have seen better days. Areas beyond the lobby are dated with wear and tear that a flagged hotel would not permit. Has a campy, vacation lodge feel not a spa and resort feel. Families and older travelers on short stays seem to predominate. Staff were quite pleasant and helpful. Would stay again if doing something in very immediate vicinity.

8/10 Very good

Beautiful views. Friendly staff. Rooms could be doing with a bit of attention just like cleaning grout, filling cracks. We had 3 alcoholic drinks, a starter and 2 mains and it was 99.00 to give idea of pricing. I would definitely go back but for longer to enjoy the spa and watersports. X
Claire, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely place, poor breakfast

Brilliant location with fabulous views. Lovely comfy, clean room. Nice staff but sadly breakfast was poor due to staff shortage. No replenishment of pastries, fruit, ham, cheese or chocolate spread even when everything had gone, and guests were still entering the room an hour before service ended.

open the bloody windows

beautiful hotel , beautiful surroundings great staff , great facilities, restaurant a little pricey however if you like fresh air when asleep windows only open an inch for "safety" ....yet they have 3 storey apartments with a balcony
Jason, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The external of the hotel is tired looking. We stayed in a luxury room which was spacious but furniture was tired and the bed creaked noisily when making the slightest move. There was mould staining in the bath sealant. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is set in a beautiful location and there are stunning views across Loch Ard. I enjoyed the food .the rstraunt is very pleasant.
Stuart, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Average

The staff were pleasant and friendly. The room was a good size for family. The mould on the windows was very offputting. Unfer the bed hadnt been cleaned in quite some time. The fold out bed for the kids was not comfortable however the bed for adults was. The portion sizes at dinner were small. Kids were hungry afterwards. Over priced Taste of food was good but not exceptional
