Beautiful, snowy, mountainous resort
A wonderful, hotel with absolutely gorgeous scenery. The staff was pleasant and accommodating of us only being able to speak English.

Overbilled
Hotel reception did not allow 1 day early checkout without billing for the full stay. Otherwise ok.

Amazing hotel
Truly great stay at Wood Hotel. The room was super clean and spacious. Comfy chairs and comfy bed. The bathroom was good and had everything you could need. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was excellent. But the star of the show was definitely the buffet breakfast. It was huge and there was something for everyone. Breakfast is on the 7th floor and is set out in a lovely spacious dining area. The hotel is set at the top of a hill, a little out from the main town (maybe 7-8 mins by car), so not far. We ate our breakfast and took in the view at the same time - you get a great view over the sea, airport and town below. We really hope to stay again sometime soon.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Wood Hotel. We would recommend this hotel to all of our friends. The staff is very friendly and the hotel itself is very clean. The restaurant and cafe both had delicious food

The hotel is absolutely amazing!! It is perfect for hikers and people that want to experience a peaceful and relaxing vacation!! The views from many areas of this hotel are all spectacular!! The pool is one of a kind with spectacular views and very exquisite resting area! There is a well equipped gym! The changing area is very nice! Most of all the staff is very professional, well mannered and gracious!! They definitely know how to treat their guests and they are consistently showing great attitudes and care to their guests!! The food is excellent!! You could never go wrong in choosing this hotel!! It is a wonderful experience in every aspect to stay here at Wood hotel Bodo Norway

4/10 Fair

A family-hostile hotel
My 5-year-old son and I decided to travel to northern Norway with two goals in mind: swimming in a pool and seeing the Northern Lights. After searching for hotels north of the Arctic Circle, we chose this hotel based on its “family-friendly” pool as advertised on hotels.com. However, upon checking in, we were shocked to learn that the pool was restricted to adults, with only a narrow exception allowing children aged 12–18 to use it between 12:00 and 14:00. There was no mention of these restrictions on the hotel’s hotels.com page. My son was heartbroken by this unexpected limitation. To make matters worse, the hotel is located far from the city center, forcing us to take an expensive taxi to a public pool in town. For families with children of different ages, the strict age rule would still make it impossible for everyone to enjoy the pool together. Additionally, swimming during the limited hours of 12:00–14:00 disrupts any daytime activities in Bodø and its surroundings. We were deeply disappointed by how the hotel handled the situation, especially when faced with a crying 5-year-old boy. They refused to make any exceptions despite their misleading advertisement of a “family-friendly” pool. I cannot recommend this hotel to families with children. It is better suited for adults and offers little appeal beyond being a fairly standard, remote hotel.

amazing view
The room is small but still the view is stunning.

Very new hotel and it was finding its way. It was difficult to get a table at the restaurant and you had t pay extra for using the pool area. The staff at the reception was helpful. The atmosphere could be more cosy, especially in the restaurant and at breakfast instead of just being correct and distant.

New and Nice but the facilities are not sized for the amount of Guests. Crowded breakfast room, early closing of the kitchen ( 9.30 pm). Seems the straff is not enough.

8/10 Very good

The views around the property are incredible and breakfast is lovely. You will want to drive a car here, however because a taxi to and from the hotel is very expensive. And you will want to go elsewhere for food as the hotel restaurant was fully booked our entire stay (5 nights). The food at the hotel cafe is also expensive. Additionally, you cannot control the window shades and sometimes it gets very sunny and your room will get very hot. Loved that the bathroom floors were heated and evaporated the shower water relatively quickly. Nice that you can use the gym, but pool and sauna must be booked separately. Hiking trails surrounding the hotel are great. Trailheads are a few minutes walk from the lobby in either direction.

Overall a wonderful experience. A few minor details that could be improved upon, but all in all a wonderful stay. When we checked in there was a vacant table full of dirty dishes in the lobby, right by the door…not the best sight when you walk into this beautiful hotel. We stood in line for approx. 8 - 10 min. and during that time no one came to clean the area. Check in is at 4pm…there was only one person working in reception and many people came in at the same time to be checked in, so there was a bit of a wait. We checked in online prior to arriving. The clerk at the front desk was helpful and friendly as he gave us our keys. The room is spacious, clean, beautifully furnished and the views are fantastic! We booked a table at the Attme restaurant on the 7th floor. Our waiter was polite but disappeared before we could give him our drink order. He showed up 35 min. later with our starters. We ordered the scallop starter which was tasty. For mains, my husband had the “bouillabaisse” which was closer to a bacalao and I had the braised pork cheeks. Both were good. We had a nightcap at the bar on the 7th floor. Excellent service! The panoramic views in the bar and restaurant are phenomenal! We took a night time hike on the nearby trails…if you attempt this in the fall months, make sure to have a head lamp as the trails are not lit. We retired to our beautiful room and had a good night’s sleep on a very comfortable bed. We will definitely return.
