We booked to stay at this hotel through Expedia. We arrived at the hotel to be told that there wasn’t any booking made for us and told by the manager that we had been scammed and if we wanted to stay we would have to pay again, despite showing her our Expedia reservation details and bank statements as proof, she would not accept it. We asked to to contact Expedia but she also refused as she did not speak English. We contacted Expedia to inform them of the situation, they tried to contact the hotel but the number they had was incorrect and the hotel did not respond to their emails. We had to go to the police station to get a statement written from the hotel to state that they did not hold a booking for us. We then to find another place to stay. Expedia refused to refund us as they said it is a non refundable booking, dispute the circumstances. It was an absolute nightmare, so stressful and took most of the day to sort something out. Not great when you are only staying for a short period of time and did not leave us with much time to explore. I have no idea why Expedia are still using this awful hotel but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! I can highly recommend the Amasra Ceylin hotel, who were extremely accommodating, rooms were beautifully clean with a sea view and the breakfast buffet was the best we have ever had with homemade produce. If you do not want to have a stressful holiday, AVOID EGE SUIT HOTEL!
