Vahid and No. 5 east are just a sheer delight! The house is lovely, breakfast was great, and Vahid is so welcoming and cheerful. Only minor complaint is that, in the winter, if you aren't in a car, the nearest restaurants and shops are a bit of a walk, especially if it's winter.

I loved my stay in this gorgeous historic home. It is beyond beautiful!! My room was comfortable, fresh and clean! Every little detail is well thought out, from the bath salts provided, to the snacks, beverages and games in the common living room. The hosts are lovely, super friendly, and very helpful! Amazing heritage home. Beautiful wood detailing, stained & leaded glass. Room large & spotless with giant bathtub, very generous separate shower, crystal chandelier in front of window behind the vessel sink. Common areas elegant yet welcoming. Fantastic kitchen with generous self-serve continental breakfast, excellent coffee. Host and hostess very welcoming and helpful.

My husband and I recently stay at No. 5 East over the weekend. We had such a great stay, the house was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. We ended up getting stuck in Winnipeg an extra day due to the weather and Vahid and Marcia welcomed us back for another night. They were such great hosts, the breakfast was perfect, fresh, great selection and amazing coffee. I have already recommended this place to my friends and family and cannot wait to return. 10/10 recommend!

This is a beautiful place to stay! It is a well taken care of stunning through story, home in a great neighborhood! It's absolutely gorgeous! My room is large and comfortable, very clean. The fresh breakfast had a huge selection of items to choose from, and the host even offered a selection of coffees from the cappuccino/espresso machine. The hosts are super friendly! The neighborhood is full of old character homes that are well preserved. I'm almost definitely stay again!!

The host (male) was exceptionally warm, personable, kind, and attentive during the morning breakfasts. He has a very natural gift for hospitality and made all of us gathered around lovely, large breakfast table feel genuinely welcome. The beds were extremely comfortable, the location was excellent, and their dog, Chief, was adorable and very friendly. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, especially the cut fruit, pumpkin seeds, and the specialty coffee machine, although the menu remained the same throughout our 4-night stay, which became a little repetitive. The historical building is currently undergoing a major renovation, and while there is still work to be done, it was clear that a great deal of care and attention is being invested into the property. It is a gem of a building. One aspect that felt a little less welcoming was that a person working in the main office area appeared somewhat irritated with guests, which created a slightly awkward atmosphere. Overall, however, the warmth and attentiveness of the host stood out and left a very positive impression.

The hospitality at No. 5 East is always amazing!! The rooms are spacious, luxurious! The location is perfect as a home base for everything we needed to do in Winnipeg. The property is gorgeous!! The stay was amazing. The owners are so friendly, accommodating and have amazing communication. They asked what time we were arriving and let us know when our room was ready (ahead of check in time). It was really a home away from home feeling. The bathroom was clean and the best part was the floor was heated in the Cedar room. The bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast items were delicious and fresh. Would recommend for single night or extended stay. The wonderful thing about this room is it’s adjoining; if you have a larger family it would accommodate everyone. The house is beautiful and we will be returning in the future!

My husband and I stayed two nights at No.5 East and it was an incredible experience from beginning to end. Marcia and Vahid have truly created a home away from home for their guests. The home itself is stunning and immaculate - clean rooms, comfy beds, and spacious bathrooms, a common area games room and coffee bar (which I enjoyed for reading while my husband was still sleeping in the morning). The location is also just a short drive from major attractions, and I was impressed at how quiet the surrounding area is at night. Breakfast was perfect each morning with the right nutritional value to start your day. Best of all - when they say you arrive a guest and leave a friend, that couldn’t be more true. They are fantastic humans, and their dog Chief is an absolute angel. We will be back. With all our hearts - There’s not a better place to stay in Winnipeg!
