Not bad for what I paid
Stayed for 1 night with my son who was competing at a sports tournament the following day locally, so more of a convenience trip/stay. Car park was a little limited though I did manage to park. The appearance from outside was nice and the welcome from the gentleman at the desk was friendly and pleasant, though don't expect there to be a Reception Desk (it was a table and a guy with a laptop)! But got our room key quickly which was good. The bar area looked quite good and general appearance of corridors and the room were OK and the place was clean. I just found there were some little things like pain peeling from some walls and skirting boards, extension leads being used instead of there being sufficient sockets, the TV aerial was a bit dodgy and signal went in and out, stuff like that. The air cooling unit was also not the best (they made a point of stating it was not an air conditioning unit) which made for an uncomfortable sleep (as it was a very hot night). Breakfast in the morning was nice and check-out staff were again pleasant and friendly. Overall, it was an OK stay for what we needed. I have a voucher which meant I paid about ยฃ45 for the room that night, which was about right. Would I have paid the full ยฃ90 something pounds? Probably not.
