Our party consisted of five people who stayed at Royal Cancun All Villas. We stayed in a spacious condo-style apartment with a pool view and swim-up bar. The room was perfect for our group and small child. When we arrived, we were greeted by a concierge who took us to our room and answered questions about the resort, activities, and food options. She was very friendly, but the only downside was she tried to give a 90-minute speech regarding their timeshare. We were not interested in that offer. The beach area is very nice, and my husband and I saw a huge starfish, sting ray, and blowfish while we swam. The food is mediocre at best, but it is to be expected at an all-inclusive resort. We tried the two restaurants at this resort and took the twenty-minute shuttle to the sister resort, Royal Sands, and the food wasn't much better at their restaurants (it lacked flavor, and the steaks were not good - way overcooked). However, the view at the sister resort is breathtaking, and the resort is a bit livelier for the younger crowd. As far as drinks, most tasted good. Some staff were friendly, but most were standoffish and not very friendly. One member laughed to a co-worker that he was given two dollars as a drink tip. This resort has pros and cons, but overall, we enjoyed our time at Royal Cancun.
