I like the room, the location of the hitel is OK location, the service in general is OK. The food served in the cafeteria is the same every day. In general, in case you decide to visit Maldives, make it 2 or 3 days, otherwise it would be boring because no much to do.

Fantastic hotel. My room and king bed were extremely comfortable. Lovely view of the beach from my balcony. All the staff were super friendly and provided amazing services across all area's from cleaners, waiters, reception especially memorable was their PR manager.

I staying ground floor,can heard guest having dinner at restaurant,staffs cleaning cutlery and wiping ,make me very uncomfortable to sleep , until the restaurant close and staffs are go back then only can sleep peacefully. Receptionist pass wrong information that 10am has ferry to male.(USD 2 per person) but when start to go then receptionist inform us is speedboat not ferry and ferry is on 7.30am.i need to pay USD20 per person.Ferry is tomorrow, i and wife very disappointed. Overall b'fast is good and manager is friendly an apology to us.

Booked Velana Beach, which was over booked, so moved us to Velana Blu (new next door guest house, same owner and share same restaurant). Room was clean, comfortable and housekeeping was very good. Unfortunately, zero privacy in your own room, unless you close the blackouts. No shades or reflective curtains where installed, only dark blackouts, which when opened in the morning, our room with partial sea view, is visible from all sides and the street. So you unless you darken the room when closing the blackouts, you should NOT get too comfortable in your room. We asked them to move us to one of their sea facing rooms in Velana Blu, management confirmed that some of them are Vacant, but later they just ignored this request. Its sea front, but you will walk 5-10 minutes to the beach area.

Get Place for A Good Experience in the Maldives
Took a 15 minute speed boat taxi ride picked up at the Airport and to Maafushi Island. It is a working island with local shops and native people. Prices in the stores and hotel were great compared to the resort locations. People were friendly. We went night fishing and they cooked up our catch in a traditional Maldivian style. No complaints on the whole experience.

Great Hotel and Experience!
I had a wonderful experience at the Velana Beach Hotel. The staff were great. They went out of their way to make sure all of my needs were met. In addition, the food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. I tried out a few different local places but always returned to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Overall, it was great experience.

A Great Option in Maafushi
I enjoyed my three night stay at the Velana Beach Hotel. The rooms were nice with a very comfortable bed. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and worked hard to help me book a snorkeling tour in the off-season which was very much appreciated. The meals at the hotel were tasty, but overall portions were somewhat small. The hotel is in a good location, a short walk away from the more touristy side of the island. I found the public beach to be much more interesting than the bikini beach with good snorkeling -- saw moray eels and a variety of fish as well as baby blacktip reef sharks in the sea grass area just across the road from the hotel. My room had a balcony, but it faced other buildings; you could see the ocean, though, if you stepped outside and looked to the side. There was construction work going on around the hotel, but it was not too intrusive. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We miss Velana and its staff dearly!
Our stay at Velana was fantastic! The food and mocktails are the best on Maafushi. We tried the mocktails in different places, nothing beats Velana's. After a hot day, they were so refreshing to have and you could have dinner outside on the beach. Velana is located on the quiet side of the island, so it is not bustling with tourists and music. Although there is construction of Velana's new extension during the day, it was peaceful at night and the hotel manager made sure the work didn't bother the guests all day. We were hardly in during the day as there were so many excursions and activities to get involved in. The hotel arranged all our excursions with some of the best guides. They even arranged all the speed boat transfers. They were there to greet us when we arrived at the harbour and sent us off at the end of our stay. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. It was the tiny touches such as the rain shower, mini fridge, bottled water, fresh towels daily, super comfy pillows & mattress, air conditioning that made it as such. Most of all, the hospitality that we received from the hotel manager and staff were beyond expectations. They were welcoming and friendly. The hotel manager obliged to all our requests, he was extremely helpful and kind. Our stay would not have been the same without him. We left with such heavy hearts as we became so acquainted with the staff. We would highly recommend this place.

Cet hôtel est super tant au niveau de l'hébergement que de la restauration, nous y avons passé une semaine la semaine précédente et étions décidés à y revenir après notre croisière ... mais pour ce séjour malheureusement je n'ai pas pu y séjourner pour cause de surbooking, pratique visiblement courante à Maafushi. D'autres voyageurs nous ont raconté les mêmes expériences désagréables dans plusieurs hôtels. Nous avons été déplacé dans un autre hôtel après avoir eu droit à des explications oiseuses du manager (et un repas offert en guise de compensation)

Плюсы: - внимательный отзывчивый персонал. На день рожденья мамы, не спрашивая нас, сделали вечером сюрприз: когда ужинали весь персонал собрался и поздравил шоколадным тортом со свечами - хороший wi-fi - очень вкусная еда, обеды и ужины по меню - современный отель со свежим ремонтом Минусы: - рядом стройка - боковой вид на море - это практически не соответствует действительности. Фактически это вид на стройку
