be prepared to execute the original price
Our stay started very unpleasant: soon after check-in (about this later) we were about to pay in cash for the reservation. The host wanted us to pay approx. 15% more of what we have on our confirmation voucher (including tax and cleaning fee). We refused and pay in cash the amount we had on the reservation. No payment receipt/bill/invoice was given to us (experienced in such situations before, we did a video recording of the transaction to have a proof). The host representative stated he will speak to the owner and will clarify the situation. 30 minutes later we received a call from the owner – she said either we pay extra money or she will not let us stay in her place. I tried to explain her that if she needs to pay any commission to an agent, she cannot pass-through these costs to the guests. She was not satisfied and said she will contact Hotels.com and I will have to pay anyway. I’ve reached customer support myself soon after and explained the situation. They were very helpful and helped us resolve the problem. Anyway: the location is very good, we were given an apartment on 31st floor – with a great sea view. There WAS NO: hot water, hair dryer nor safe box. No TV in the living room – only in the bedroom. The pool was on top (38th) floor – it is extremely windy up there and the whole pleasure of using this pool is lost because of that. They say there is gym, but the entrance is 20.000 COP per h.
