Small gem well located!
Great hotel, cute maisonette, amazing location surrounded by so many fabulous restaurants, shops and even the harbour is close (10 min walk max). Many bus stops around to go to Knossos, and beaches. Breakfast was great, staff super nice. Bathroom is small but it serves its purpose :). Would come back without hesitation😍

Right in the heart of downtown Heraklion, this cosy hotel is a short walk from all the shops, restaurants and attractions. The room was modern and clean with breakfast included and was close to everything.

6/10 Good

The room itself was great, only thing is could have had an extra bottle of shower gel. However the main issue was the door, the key needs to be inserted at a specific angle and turned very specifically. If not, you risk being locked out & waiting for help. Thankfully we only stayed one night. This is not a new thing, previous reviews have mentioned as well. No 24/7 reception in case u go out and get locked out. Emergency number available but we were asked "what did you do to the door". Anyway, if this is an issue for you, please find alternate hotels to stay in

4/10 Fair

We were really disappointed in most everything about this hotel - it was not at all what was advertised and we felt completely overpriced for what we got. The room was old and generally tired and grubby. The downstairs comprised of a space with two armchairs with dirty fabric, and a kitchenette and bathroom. Tea/coffee supplies were not replenished and once we’d used the cups on day 1 we had no way to clean them and those too were not replaced. The bathroom is tiny and shower had mould in it. In the room there is only one small mirror in the bathroom so it’s not easy to get dressed up nicely for an evening out. Upstairs the bedroom is too small for two bedside tables so one person has to put their belongings on the floor between the bed and the wall. Housekeeping dropped off new towels when we asked but aside from that there was no housekeeping service. After 3pm we had no access to the courtyard area because the reception closes at 3pm. All of above is ok if you’re paying 2 star prices but the hotel was expensive and very overpriced for what we got. Would not recommend at all.

A pleasant stay
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, we had the very spacious maisonette. Amenities were available, we had hot drinksand also complimentary water throughput our stay. The breakfast was a highlight, lovely fresh, local food, whilst sitting in the beautiful patio. The downside was the tiny bathroom where the showerscreen didnt really stop the water spilling every.

Very nice property! Perfect location. Super clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only problem is there is not a lot of parking options around if you have a car. Would definitely go back.

It took me 15 mins to get the Masonette door open because the lock is screwed up. Very loud upstairs people, scooters zooming by all hours of the night. Loud music. No parking walked 5 blocks for parking

Hospitable Heraklion
The location is incredible to access the centre of Heraklion and buzzing night life within a very short walk. We arrived late which and had no problem to access our room with the key in the lock box. We were exceptionally lucky with parking and found a space in front of the property - looking at the local parking I think we were one in 1000 to find this though! The hosts are incredibly helpful and hospitable, we had a lovely stay!

We really enjoyed the Veneziano Boutique Hotel. We stayed in the maisonette, which was a funky, two-level suite (steep stairs - not recommended for anyone with mobility issues). The air conditioning worked well and it was a comfortable space. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really delicious and eaten in a lovely courtyard. All the great restaurants and museums were within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

Avoid this hotel, no hospitality here, just greed.
I was locked out of this hotel and then charged for the hotel! I booked this hotel through hotels.com and arrived at approximately 11pm on my first visit to Crete. The hotel was pitch black and this was confusing because check in was supposed to be open until midnight so i thought the hotel was closed. A few days later I noticed I had been charged for that night when I did not stay there. When I went back through Heraklion I visited the hotel and spoke with the staff ( who were very nice) but the owners would not correct the situation indicating that I had not called the emergency number outside the building and so they had no responsibility to me. The room was ready and I should have called the emergency line. I told them I thought the hotel was closed and that I did not have an emergency.... only a closed check-in. They left me at night in a strange city to find another hotel and then charged me for it. The owner/manager is a terrible policy slave who simply hides behind the fine print and has forgotten the spirit of hospitality. This owner could have easily remedied this and done the right thing but was simply greedy and id not care because he had my money already.

The stuffs are very nice, response to message quickly. The location is very good, close to all attractions in the city. The only concern is that I smell mold in the bed and towels, it is a nice small hotel, but I don’t think it is 4 stars.

Oh boy. Not sure where to start here - this "hotel" bills itself as a boutique hotel but in reality its a collection of old dated rooms in the most undesirable location in town, with no front desk, no attendant, no bellman, no reception, no security, and the kind of place that will email you *the day of* check in to tell you good luck checking in thru a lock-box on your own, there will be no one at the property to check you in or help you. There is also no parking, and the area is not only extremely dirty and grungy but borderline unsafe and dangerous. What's worse, the hotel then argued that this is satisfactory service or an acceptable way to casually treat clients! The property itself is adequate - small empty courtyard. No attendant, no guests. It felt like we were breaking into our room. The room was very, very dated. We stayed in a superior double and they very cleverly photographed the room with a stair case implying multiple levels and a lofty size... no, it's a stair case you can access but with a locked door to no where. At no point in the reservation did it say that this was 1/2 of a conjoined room. Why is there a staircase taking up half of the living room space to an area that is blocked off? Your guess is as good as mine. At the end of the day, we stayed at a 5 star hotel for exactly the same price as this terrible, ugly, unsafe room. I cannot tell you louder to run away from this area. We thought we were literally going to be robbed here.

Very Dangerous - Do Not Stay Here
*Please read entire review for safety* This hotel is an absolute danger to anyone visiting. Please do not stay here My wife and I spent several weeks traveling across Greece and this was the only hotel we felt was truly unsafe -We arrived to check into the hotel around 5pm to find the reception doors locked. No note or instructions. In a very rough area of town. Finally, about 2-3 hours later, an email came through giving us instructions to get our key from a lockbox because the office closes at 2pm -We had to walk around the side of the building to a door in the alley. The door was wide open and we could hear men talking/laughing inside. They got quiet when they heard us enter. The actual door to our room was right at the opening of the alley, just a foot away from it -We heard random people screaming and shouting just outside of our door/windows all night. And inside the “secure hallway” -We walked to dinner to a place called Burger Labs (which was great) but on the way home, a man was following us down the alleyway. He stood and watched us enter our room -We stayed awake the entire night and debated leaving, as anyone could have burst in from the busy alley any time. But because we had to park our rental car 20 minutes away, it was safer to wait til daylight to escape -The next morning we left the hotel. They refused to give us a refund for the second night we paid for. But we decided to feel grateful to be alive and left anyway Horrifying stay
