The Dana on Mission Bay
"Front desk staff and hotel staff were very courteous. Clean, quiet rooms. Will be back!"
Bahia Resort Hotel
"Situated perfectly in the middle of beaches, bays, and the Mission Beach boardwalk. Amazing big rooms and amenities were great. Staff was helpful. Dockside restaurant was delicious brunch and view. The only downside is the pool is not that great for such a nice resort. That would be the only deciding factor to pick another resort. The pictures on the website are deceiving and stretch out the pool to look massive but it is quite small. Overall great resort!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in San Diego
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting San Diego on a budget is a fantastic idea, especially during January, November, and December, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For an ideal experience, plan to stay for at least 3 to 4 days, which provides great value for money while exploring key historical, cultural, and landmark attractions. You can check out budget-friendly sites like the zoo, sea, port, museums, beach, theater, art, entertainment, and historical walking tours, ensuring a memorable adventure without breaking the bank.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to San Diego, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, use Smart Shopping via the app to compare hotel prices and amenities, allowing you to find the best options for your getaway. With these tools, you're more likely to be the first to know about available rooms and price drops.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors like the hotel’s location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you save on your San Diego hotel stay. For those interested in distinct accommodations, boutique hotels might provide a more personalized experience and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to San Diego's excellent public transportation, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that's still well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even nearby lesser-known cities, there is typically excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
