Glide through shimmering canals on a gondola while Renaissance palaces rise from the water like architectural magic tricks. St. Mark's Square buzzes with café life beneath the Byzantine splendor of its basilica. Hotel Diana

Hotel Diana

8/10 Good
"It’s a perfectly fine Pensione-type hotel. A bit basic, and could use some updating and repairs, but the the AC worked, there was plenty of hot water, the window opens to a lovely view of Venetian rooftops, the breakfast was generous, and it’s just half a block from San Marco so it couldn’t be more convenient. One thing to note: the front door was locked and there was nobody at reception when we arrived to check in. Turns out checking in and out is done at the Hotel Panada, across the lane, which is also where breakfast is served. That was not mentioned anywhere in my reservation confirmation or the Hotels.com listing. So I had to look up the phone number listed in the reservation and and make a call, and luckily they answered and told us to come over to the other hotel. If I had know that in advance it would have saved a few minutes of panic."

If you're interested in a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized touch and sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average.
