Good stay at B2 Suthep Nightmarket. We ended up booking this hotel as our second hotel in Chiang Mai due to a change of plans and our main priority was to be in a different area, other than the old city and closer to some outdoor activities, with a pool.
The pros:
For the price we paid, this hotel was a good option. The beds were hard but comfortable and very clean, the site is quite nice with a big pool and the location is really nice, walking distance from the Night Market right by the Chiang Mai University (10mins), from the very hip Nimman neighborhood (30mins) and from Doi Suthep hikes. Lots of great cheap local and Asian food options nearby.
The cons:
The rooms would definitely need a good update and coat of fresh uniform paint on the walls. The walls had patches of different paint on the walls, the shower was quite run down and a bit moldy and the bathroom furniture was very outdated. There were ants on the bathroom floor. You could hear everything happening outside of your room due to poor soundproofing from the doors but we sleep with earplugs so that did not prevent us from getting a good night of sleep. Finally, the pool served its refreshing purpose but it was not very well kept, lots of leaves, broken ceramic on the steps and a cold jacuzzi.
Overall, a good stay in a different area of Chiang Mai if you’re looking for a good but nice budget option.
