Perfect Stay
We booked last minute due to having to cancel our trip into France because they closed the station due to finding an unexploded bomb from WWII. With that being said it was our first time staying in a hostel and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. The rooms are small of course if you are traveling with lots of luggage which we were. But for just 1 night it was perfect for us. The atmosphere was great and there were plenty to do. The drinks and food were amazing. My son said their fish and chips were the best he had in all of London.

Absolutely love generator. The only place i'm staying when i'm in London. It'll always be my favourite. Perfect location, great staff, comfy beds. Wish it was more privacy curtains in the bunks but other than that great.

The location of this place is perfect, close to the metro station and by walk to covent garden, Leicester square and so on! The structure is so cool and well organized, the self check in is so easy, fast and comfortable The room also were really nice! It was my 3rd time in London and thanks to this place I loved it more

For kids and those not bothered about sleep
Geared towards school groups, university groups, kids out to party. Drumming and yelling and running around at 1100pm. Young teenagers wandering the corridors and down at the bar in pyjamas. Not good for a solo adult actually wanting to sleep. Rooms reasonably clean but stuffy and bit airless. Staff friendly and helpful though.

Poor Heating, Not Clean
When we went into our room the window had been left open and the temperature of the room was around 10C. We couldn't adjust the thermostat. The front desk told us that they only turn on the heat for two hours during the day and three hours at night. The heat is not a boiler and is just a ceiling mount electric heater. The bathrooms were dirty and stunk. The room floor was sticky.

Great cheap stay for a night
For the cheapest stay in London and a great atmosphere, I love staying at Generator. It was my third stay and even though it was a 13 bed room, it was not even half full. They’ve adjusted the food hours so you can eat at the bar later than before, and as always the staff were very courteous.
