2/10 Poor

Stolen property during our stay.
I reserved two rooms, When we arrived, they only had one room for all 5 of us. We had no choice but to sleep in one room. They would not accommodate us with the second room and charged us extra for the fifth person To stay in our room on a cot. I had some very expensive sunglasses stolen on the first day when the cot was delivered. On the second day, One pair of men’s leather patent shoes were also stolen. Even though we reported nothing was ever found or returned. The manager Jaime was not Very understanding on our arrival as we showed him on our phones that we had two rooms reserved. We asked to have our breakfast comped for the inconvenience. He replied with a “we cannot afford that”. I am not able to come anything because it was not our fault. It was Hotels.com fault. I asked Hotels.com to remove this hotel from the booking list.

Guadalajara stay
Hotel was nice but wouldn’t stay again. The hotel is located near some clubs and bars so there was loud music till about midnight. The elevator was nice but old and unreliable. The mattress was very hard but luckily with 4 large winter blankets provided by the hotel, It was bearable. The bathroom had open windows which let mosquitos in. I woke up with bites on my arms hands and face. I will say the place was clean. The staff was friendly and helped with my hard mattress solution. But there is a double tree and holiday in 2 blocks away. Should have stayed there.

The staff was friendly. It is a nicely conserved building despite it being more than 400 years old. It comes with the basic amenities. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is AC in every room. It is a few meters from the center of the city. There are good restaurants nearby, museums around the corner, shopping all around that area, and the area is walkable. Taxis are always available outside the hotel ready to take you anywhere you want to go.

Needs lots of attention
This is a historic hotel with lots of originality, but old doesn’t mean it should be unkept. There was mold in the bathrooms, a mildew smell in the room, front desk staff seemed like they didn’t care, and the beds may be the original from the 1600s! We asked if they could turn on the chandelier lights in the lobby but it remained dark all night. So disappointed.

2/10 Poor

They didn't respected my reservation. I paid for that in expedia I gave them the reservation number and they said that Expedia didn't pay to them or make the reservation. I was pretty upset. I was feeling humiliated. They offered another room for more money. I want a reimbursement from Expedia because this was terrible experience. I walked to another at night time until I went to other hotel Hotel Morales.
