The room itself was spacious and useful, especially for family travelers. However, the room was not warm enough due to malfunctioning air-con system. A serious problem was with one front-desk lady, very unkind, with ever unhappy look, no smile. When I had to check-in around noon while raining outside, the front-desk lady, speaking very bluntly from the start, charged me 10 Pounds for early check-in. I had to peacefully accept the charge. In the evening, I asked if I can check-out around noon one hour later than 11:00 A.M. check-out time. She replied "O.K.", not mentioning late charges. I thought check-out time was somewhat flexible. Next day, when I check out around 12:20 P.M., she charged me 15 Pounds. I asked, "Didn't you say it's O.K?" She said. "Yes. But 10 Pounds charge for a late check-out." I said, "Then, why didn't you mention the late check-out charge?" She said, "I did." She lied to me. I asked why then 15 Pounds? She replied, “Because 10 Pounds is only for one hour.” I have never experienced this kind of charges or verbal treatments. The next city I visited was Glasgow. All of the hotel (Holiday inn, express) people in Glasgow were excessively kind, and would take care of my baggage until evening time of my check-out date. They did what I asked, regardless of how many times. A Hawaii hotel I visited last February was very willing to take care of my three pieces of baggage for my four hours earlier check-in without any charge.
