I went through hurricane Helene here, so this was an abnormal hotel experience. The staff, trapped as much as the guests, were great. I extended my stay because there was no road open out of Asheville. The hotel lost power, ran out of food, hot water, and then had no water - not their fault. All stores and gas stations near were closed for days. Best thing: hotel was on high enough ground that there was no flood danger. Trees did not fall on cars in the parking lot. The other guests were great, we socialized and shared information as we had it (no one's cell phones worked.) I would stay here again.
They need to fix the bathroom door of room 308. I got locked in the bathroom in the dark (no power) when the latch didn't work. Some jiggling and pushing and pulling finally got it open, but that was not pleasant at all. With no cell service, I could have been stuck in there for days. In four days, I never had any maid service for the room - maybe they couldn't get to work with all the hurricane-caused travel issues.
