Booked through Expedia but unfortunately hotel did not have a confirmed booking. Had to pay again at the hotel. It was frustrating after a delayed long flight from Sydney. Luckily I had a friend who could translate to sort out the bookings and the front desk staff handled it professionally.
I provided Expedia with all the documents to prove double payments and it resulted in a refund after a few days.
From now on, I will personally confirm directly with booked hotels to avoid a repeat.
