Disappointing Stay – Overcharged and Poor Experience
I initially booked a room through Expedia for $23, including taxes. However, after completing my payment by card, the final charge was $41. I contacted Expedia about this discrepancy but have not received a response. Upon check-in, I clarified this issue with the hotel, but they were unhelpful and said there was nothing they could do.
Additionally, as a Maldivian citizen, I do not require a visa, yet the hotel insisted on seeing one. I repeatedly explained this to them, even showing the information online that Maldivians get a 90-day visa-free stay. This led to a frustrating and unwelcoming debate during check-in.
The room itself was very disappointing. The photos online did not match the actual condition of the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room was so cold it felt damp. I barely slept due to the cold and the uncomfortable bed. The bathroom was not clean or well-maintained either, adding to the unpleasant experience.
I was looking for an affordable option for a one-night stay, but I ended up paying more than expected for a place that fell far below acceptable standards. Overall, I’m very dissatisfied with this experience.
