Great location...
The Talbot enjoys a great location.
The hotel is getting to be tired, with bedrooms in particular (and bathrooms) needing a refresh, or lick of paint.
It is hard to find staff to check you in.
The food is of average quality.
The staff are variable, on checkout the member of staff was on the phone to a friend, and it was obvious that I was interrupting a conversation.
Other staff including the servers and housekeeping a friendly and welcoming.

Pleasant but needs some care.
Booked as I was working in Woking and didnt want the awful commute in the morning.
I was quitexlate arriving, but was met by 2 friendly members of staff. I'd prebooked dinner and breakfast and due to time, went straiggt into the restaurant.
My meals wwre nice. Nothing to conplain about here.
I had room 4, just above reception. It was quite simple but warm and the inportant bit (the bed) was comfy. Even i accidentslly booked a double single bed room, i slept well.
The not quite as positive area was the bathroom. The extract fan is very noisy, the kight sbove the sink only partially works, the ceiling has flaking paint, the drain in the bath blocked up when i took a shower. Its noticably colder than the bedroom as well.
Food was fine. Staff were fine. I slept pretty well. It just felt a bit old snd in need of TLC in my room. Would book again though.

£10 for parking seems unreasonable considering the location is quite remote.

I was very disappointed with my stay this time - The Talbot have introduced car park charging which added over £10 a day to my stay and I was not told in advance.
There was no extractor fan in the bathroom. I was expected to make tea and coffee with a wooden stick instead of a teaspoon. When I left I had to make two trips to my car, after the first trip to the car my key card no longer worked and when I went to reception to explain, the women made it work again but wasn’t remotely interested in me to say oh dear, or sorry or anything - in fact she was rather dismissive of me. What if I had been having breakfast? I wouldn’t have got back into my room either.

Generally not bad wet room left a lot to be desired, rusty pipework, black mould on seals . Shower adjustment rail was broken.
Tv remote would not work window catch broken and a bit mean with complementary milk & teabags. Parking charge expensive. Opening window would not be excessible for many disabled. Breakfast was very good.

Pleasant enough stay.
Pleasant stay. Visiting Wisley a very short distance away so very convenient.
Bed comfortable, shower cabinet needed a hood clean, otherwise acceptable standard of cleanliness.
Breakfast ok except overcooked bacon and eggs

A reasonable hotel
I stay regularly at this hotel.
As usual on arrival reception was not manned, and there was therefore a considerable delay checking in.
I times my arrival for 8p.m. but there was a hold up on the M25 so I missed the incredibly early 8.30p.m. cut off for the restaurant.
The rooms are looking a little grubby with dirty paintwark, that just needs a good clean, other than that this is a well appointed hotel, in a great location.

Excellent and poor under the same roof.
The staff at The Talbot Inn were very nice and were helpful, the restaurant food was excellent and plenty of choice but the breakfast was poor, greasy and had a limited choice for vegetarians or vegans. The bedroom was stylish and the bathroom modern but it was grubby, with a stained carpet, dirty net curtains and cobwebs. The tables and chairs in the bar were dirty and sticky and dirty ashtrays on the tables in the garden were not changed for clean ones until the following evening. The setting was beautiful and the outdoor terrace and garden were lovely and it was dog-friendly everywhere except the dining room. The booking form through Hotels.com that I used did not have a selection for bringing a dog or parking overnight, both of which transpired to be chargeable items even though I booked a dog-friendly room and was a guest over a long weekend. I felt that Hotels.com should have flagged those options as it added 20% to the cost of the room. The hotel manager was good about that though and reduced the extras fee when I raised the issue.

A tick for Talbot
Lovely place with great facilities. Expensive on the car charging and a very few things that need investment, shower head loose tiles etc. but overall really nice
