Peaceful, beautiful, friendly island.
Stunning beach and calmest water. Great food. Best staff. All of them were friendly, kind and helpful. Hot plentiful big clean showers. Peaceful island. Many restaurants. Affordable seafood. Only caveat was that getting there took four flights including a layover in Managua.

Its the nicest spot on the whole island! So pretty the money is (almost) worth it! Other than that its overpriced and the service is the worst i have ever experienced. The waitresses are rolling their eyes and laughing at you. (Some of them, not everyone) at i took us 20 minutes to get a menu. Then another hour and a half before getting our food.

Could be better
They have a nice beach and bars but the service was horrible, it took forever for the waitress to come over, many times, I ended up going up to the bar to order and even then, it was slow getting my food or drinks. The bars are also quite loud and we could hear them even though we were in the room furthest away. TBH it seems like the workers simply didn’t care all that much about the customers as most of our concerns/questions were met with disinterest. On a positive note, for those who stayed at the hotel and complained about not having hot water, there is, just turn the handle to the right. They also let us check-in early which was nice.

The hotel itself is very overpriced and they wanted an extra $15US a hour for a later check out. The bungalow porch is shared between four rooms and the walls are paper thin. We got assigned the wrong room type and in hind-site should have kept the hotel room instead of choosing the bungalow. AC worked great but the hot water in the shower kept going cold. Beach was lovely though it rained the whole stay so the start of December is not the time to come. Food was okay. I would suggest staying elsewhere and just visiting the beach.

I loved my stay here. I had been travelling around Central America for nearly 5 weeks and this was the perfect place for my rest stop. Check in was excellent and my room was ready early. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room (bungalow) was very comfortable and I liked the simple rustic beach design. The beach was beautiful and a great place for the sunset. Loved that the bar and restaurant are also on the beach. The food was excellent quality and there was plenty of options in different price brackets. I don’t drink alcohol so I can’t comment on those prices. I felt very relaxed the whole time and would definitely stay here again.

The bungalow room I stayed at had a urine smell the first day, which they came to mop but the smell was still there. I wasnt sure if it was the wood smell bc of all the moisture. Super friendly and kind staff. Perfect location to enjoy the beach and have food to be served. The food was decent and staff always welcoming with a smile.

Great Hotel in a great location, right across the beautiful white sand/ blue water beach. Staff was really nice and helpful, great music and ambiance at night. Food was good, loved that the breakfast was included and that there was a free shuttle service that picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. Some things that can be improved are the availability of the spa service. I stayed for five nights, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to get all the services I wanted because the lady was on call and was pending her schedule. Also, there are a lot of locals selling stuff on the beach. While it is nice to help out and give back, at times, it is overwhelming to be offered things while trying to just relax on the beach.

The only thing that i was upset it was the mistake in the itinerary. I book one room for four people and Expedia send me the itinerary for one room foe one person. This is an error, please contact the right person to fix it. Because at the end the turist will have to pay a difference for the stay. Thank you.

We have stayed here at Arenas Beach Hotel six times in the last two years. There was a one year gap since our last last visit. Most of the staff and locals still remembered us. The hotel needs some improvements. We noticed a decline in the condition of the property, linens, beach furniture etc. The staff is awesome and the views are perfect.
